I am an experienced PR and Commercial photographer with a product, pack shot and portrait photography studio in Thetford, central East Anglia, close to Ipswich, Norwich, Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge.
There are not many professions where people say they actually enjoy going to work, however, the variety of assignments I cover really inspires me, and as a photographer you never loose that feeling of taking a great photo, it’s like a clap of thunder passing through the lens.
My interest in photography began when myself and a school friend, both aged 14, train journeyed alone across Europe in the late 1970’s to visit his grandparents in poverty stricken Romania, where we stayed for six weeks before the Police asked us to leave, perhaps they thought we were spies!
I had taken a simple camera with black and white film and it was a neighbour who offered to develop and print the images, and after seeing the prints appear in the developing dish I was hooked and have been ever since. Yes who remembers developing film and smelly fixing chemicals?
This spurred me on to study photography at The Colchester Institute of Technology for two years. The rest of my career is self taught, learning skills from other photographers and developing techniques of my own.
My freelance career began in 2003 after fifteen years experience as a press and magazine photographer for Norwich based Archant. I now have hundreds of clients nationwide, supplying a diverse range of photography services.
Most days are a challenge and I mean that in the nicest possible way, because public relations and commercial / studio photography have two mind sets as to how you approach the final result.
My work in and around Norwich, Ipswich and Cambridge as an event and PR photographer is a real buzz, often having to create a great photo with very few props which is challenging for any photographer, but also the most rewarding when you get it right for your client.
Commercial photography clients bring a mix of products to the Thetford studio for brochure, display and website photography. The studio lighting can also be set up at your work place.
I aim to provide a professional service with consistent quality and work to deadline. If you need an experienced photographer please contact me to discuss your ideas and plan your shoot.
